2024 Commencement Speaker Nominations

• The Wake Forest community is invited to submit nominations now for the 2024 Commencement Speaker.
• Based on this input and that of the Class of 2024, the Commencement Speaker Selection committee will develop a prioritized slate of recommended candidates, who reflect the University’s deepest held values and are of national or international stature, to submit to the President of the University.
• The individual chosen will join a long list of distinguished past Commencement speakers who have shared their thoughts, perspectives, and wisdom with graduates, their families and friends, and the faculty and staff who educate and mentor all students in their journey from admission to graduation.

Criteria for Consideration:

• Appreciation for the pursuit of excellence in the liberal arts and in graduate and professional education
• Advancing the frontiers of knowledge through in-depth study, research, practice
• Demonstrating creativity, imagination, and innovation in the service of humanity
• Encouraging habits of mind that ask “why,” that evaluate evidence, that are open to new ideas, open and frank dialogue
• Understanding and appreciating inclusion and diversity
• Ethical leadership
• National/international stature in their profession
• Alumni of Wake Forest University encouraged
